There are those that think the Bible is primarily about the nation of Israel. There are yet others who believe the focus of the Scriptures is on the Church. And there are some perhaps who feel the main message of the Word deals with how we should live, with the moral path of living.

Now although all of these in some degree may be accurate, it misses the mark entirely. Yes a large part of the Bible concerns the nation of Israel and its relationship with the Lord God that formed them. And indeed, the church is undoubtedly a major theme of the New Testament. It is also true that the Scriptures contain a fair degree of moral content that can instruct us in how we should live.

But. my friends, we miss God's revelation entirely if we fail to see that, from beginning to end, from Genesis to Revelation - and running through every book, through all the Law and the Prophets - the main concern is none other than God's Holy and Righteous and Beloved Son; the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the purpose  and fulfillment; and it is His life filling every page with context and meaning. Consider this study of most of His names and titles, as conveyed in the Book - and may the Lord grant us eyes to see Him in all of His transcendent and incarnate glory...
